The Challenge

The project carried a demanding programme, and the facility’s location outside our primary service regions required a practical solution for construction monitoring. We partnered with a trusted local engineer to provide on-site oversight, ensuring quality and compliance without compromising delivery timelines.

The EAP Solution

We delivered comprehensive structural engineering for a new cheese processing facility, providing a single point of structural accountability throughout the build.
Our scope covered the full structure from ground to roof: foundations and floor slab designed for the demands of food processing operations; brine bath retaining walls engineered to cantilever safely during construction; portal frames providing the clear, unobstructed floor space essential for processing layouts; and roof, wall bracing, gable end rafters, and supporting columns designed to meet New Zealand’s wind and seismic requirements.
For the building envelope, we designed purlins and girts and provided a cladding specification recommendation matched to purlin spacings and loading. PIR wall and ceiling panel detailing was provided to meet the strict thermal performance requirements of a food processing environment. We also covered secondary steelwork, including door frames and openings, the gantry beam and supporting structure, and all connections throughout.
