We carried out a detailed seismic assessment of the warehouse and office buildings, working through council records, completing a site survey, and producing a full DSA report in the standard SESOC format. The assessment gave the client a clear picture of where the buildings stood and what needed to be done. The client had enough confidence in our work to engage us directly for the strengthening design, without going back to the market. We redesigned the critical connection details to make them bolted rather than welded, replacing strapping with walers and simplifying the roof bracing connections throughout. The result was a more buildable, more resilient structure. We managed the building consent lodgment and provided construction monitoring through to completion.
